Boy files wrongful death suit for his late father

A neurosurgeon recently did so after his state medical board conducted an intensive 18-month investigation regarding his high rate of repeat spinal surgeries.

Texas company worksite death leads to OSHA citations

Halcon Resources Corp. has been cited by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration for various safety violations after an employee died at the Texas work site, known as WG Operating. The employee was attempting to restore power to a pumping station when he was electrocuted after coming into contact with live electrical parts. This case has the potential of leading to a wrongful death suit in the near future.

Wrongful death suit against jail sent to arbitration

A Texas woman who was arrested after a traffic stop in 2010 for misdemeanor warrants was found unresponsive in a Gregg County Jail separation cell three days later. A nearby hospital pronounced her dead shortly afterwards. Her family has filed a wrongful death suit against the jail, claiming that the woman was not given her prescribed medications that she needed to survive. The medications were allegedly in her purse in the jail property room when she died.
