Police in northern Texas are searching for a driver that left the scene of a recent crash. A 5-month-old baby suffered what turned out to be fatal injuries in the hit-and-run SUV accident. Police describe the driver as a black male that was driving a four-door white Pontiac.

An SUV was making a left hand turn when the Pontiac slammed into the passenger side of the SUV. The impact caused the baby to be thrown from the vehicle. The child initially survived the crash but suffered critical injuries. Sadly, the baby passed away the following day.

Injuries to anyone else in the SUV were not reported. Two passengers that were in the suspect’s vehicle were found at an area hospital. Police questioned the two, but the vehicle and its driver have yet to be located. For whatever reason, the identity of the driver is still unknown to police.

Fort Worth police are asking for information regarding the driver of the vehicle. A reward of $1,000 is available for any information that results in the arrest of the responsible party. Once found, the driver may face criminal charges in connection with the accident.

Texas parents most likely agree that losing a child to such a violent death would be overwhelming in and of itself. Not knowing who is responsible would be devastating. Filing a wrongful death claim against any party deemed responsible in this SUV accident may provide the parents with a monetary award to recover the medical expenses, funeral and burial costs and other financial damages sustained because of the tragic loss.
