Fatal Texas car accident involving multiple vehicles

| Jun 4, 2014 | Car Accidents

Rain can create hazardous conditions on highways making it imperative to exercise added caution while driving. When roads are wet, simple distractions or the inability to safely operate a vehicle can contribute to the cause of a car accident and result in injuries and fatalities to other people. A recent car accident in Texas tragically took the lives of four people involved in the collision.

The Monday evening accident happened on a local highway. The crash occurred when a large sports utility vehicle lost control and hydroplaned across the slick roads. The vehicle crossed over the dividing line of the highway into oncoming traffic and was struck by a fast-approaching sports car. Reports do not indicate how a third vehicle was possibly involved after the mustang smashed into the SUV.

Two occupants inside the sports car and two within the SUV lost their lives at the time of crash. The catastrophic injuries inflicted during the head-on collision harmed another occupant in the SUV as well. The survivor was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment, though the condition of the victim has not been released.

The investigation into this incident will most likely continue for days or even weeks. When a Texas driver does not respect dangerous road conditions and causes a car accident, he or she can create irreversible consequences for any victims who are seriously injured or killed as a result of the crash. A person who has lost a loved one as a result of the distracted driving of another individual may choose to pursue restitution for funeral costs and pain and suffering by filing a wrongful death claim in civil court.
