As the Texas summer fast approaches, many parents take advantage of early morning walks with their children before the heat sets in. Crossing intersections and using sidewalks along roadways may seem safe to many people who do not consider car accidents a risk when they are walking. Recently, a tragic car accident took the life of an infant as the child and his father waited to cross the street.

The morning accident took place on a local road as a truck attempted to complete a turn through an intersection. As the truck moved forward and through the intersection, an oncoming vehicle struck the truck. The impact caused the driver of the truck to lose control of the vehicle and collide with the pedestrian pushing his infant in a stroller.

The quick impact took the life of the infant resting in the stroller and caused moderate harm to the father. Neither driver of the vehicles suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. The driver of the car that hit the truck has been accused of running a red light, contributing to the cause of the accident.

The tragic loss of an infant can be devastating to a family as they make end-of-life arrangements while grieving. When the loss has been caused by the negligent actions of another person involved in a car accident, the parents may have questions about their rights. Texas parents may choose to pursue legal action against the responsible party to help cover funeral costs and other end-of-life expenses, which may help them cope with their pain and suffering.
