Fleeing from a car accident can have serious consequences for those who were injured and for the driver who chooses to leave. A young woman was recently arrested for her suspected involvement in a violent car accident after she purportedly fled the scene. Authorities believe the person they have in custody is the woman responsible for running a red light and colliding with another car on a local Houston road.

Reports indicate that the accident occurred in the early morning when a car driven by a woman accelerated quickly through a red light and smashed into the side of another vehicle. Following the impact, the driver of the speeding car and the passengers fled the scene, leaving behind wreckage and devastation. Failing to render aid or avoid responsibility when a crash occurs can leave victims with anger and confusion as they attempt to come to terms with what may have just taken place.

A total of three people lost their lives in the crash — two of whom were siblings, in addition to others who were injured. Some of the victims were related to members of a local volunteer fire department. Authorities have not specified the charges that could be placed against the woman they have arrested for the hit-and-run.

A car accident that takes place in a busy Houston thoroughfare can have extreme consequences for those involved. The crash that recently claimed the lives of multiple people has caused irreversible damage for the suffering families. A person who has lost a loved one due to the reckless choices of another driver may choose to pursue justice and restitution for a wrongful death.
