Farm roads in Texas are found on the outskirts of many large cities, just minutes from busier thoroughfares. Although they may be less populated, farm roads can still be hazardous and host to a fatal accident. A fatal accident recently took one man’s life and seriously hurt multiple people on a Texas roadway.

The early morning accident took place when an older pickup truck traveling down a farm road swerved into the adjacent lane and crashed head-on with another vehicle headed in the opposite direction. The truck collided with a sport utility vehicle at a relatively high rate of speed, which resulted in a terrifying wreck. The impact injured two people and killed a third.

The woman driving the SUV along with a passenger were taken to a nearby hospital for trauma treatment. The driver’s husband, who was another passenger in the vehicle, lost his life as a result of the impact. The driver of the pickup truck submitted blood work for testing in connection with the accident, in order to test for intoxication or any other illegal influences that may have been present in his blood at the time of the crash.

Results have not been received and charges have not been filed so far, though results may determine the next step in the case. The Texas Department of Public Safety has pursued an investigation into what may have taken place at the time of the accident, in an attempt to understand the series of events and confirm responsibility. A victim who has been hurt or lost a loved one in a fatal accident caused by another driver may choose to pursue justice against the potentially liable party.
