Being involved in an accident that causes a car to rollover can inflict serious harm to those inside of the vehicle. Injuries can require extensive medical care and can result in unexpected financial expenses. A Texas rollover accident recently claimed the life of a woman and injured three others when they were hit by a pickup truck.
The late night crash resulted after a man made the decision to drive his truck at a potentially high rate of speed. While traveling down the highway, he slammed into a sedan . When the truck made contact with the smaller car, it caused it to rollover as it wrecked.
The strong impact caused the death of a female passenger in the sedan and injured the driver, another passenger and a child who had to be helped out of the vehicle by a witness. The child was only moderately hurt and was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The surviving passenger and driver were also taken to a hospital, though their injuries were not reported.
Authorities suspect that the driver of the pickup had been drinking and arrested him. He has been charged with intoxicated assault for each injured victim and intoxicated manslaughter for the deceased. The accident remains under investigation as the Department of Public Safety reviews what may have taken place. Texas victims who has been injured by the careless actions of another party may choose to pursue legal action against the responsible person in a civil court. Also, the family of the deceased may pursue a wrongful death claim.
