Semi driver burned in Texas truck accident

| Oct 9, 2014 | Truck Accidents

Suffering serious burns or damages in a truck accident cannot only cause respiratory complications but can also require lengthy and expensive medical care to recover from the painful experience. When a driver suffers burn trauma as a result of an accident potentially caused by another person, they may feel a mixture of anger and confusion. A recent afternoon truck accident in Texas resulted in the death of one man and serious injury to another.

The tragic crash took place when a pickup truck veered into the lane of oncoming traffic on the road. The truck collided with an approaching tractor-trailer and instantly killed the pickup driver. The tractor-trailer burst into flames for close to 20 minutes and inflicted serious burns to the man operating the rig.

The victim was taken by helicopter to a nearby medical facility for trauma treatment and burn care. Reports indicate that over 35 percent of his upper body suffered third degree burns in the crash. He is still receiving treatment for his critical injuries while undergoing surgical procedures to save his life and help him heal.

Physicians believe the man will need long term treatment that includes additional surgery and rehabilitation to recover from the serious damages and burns he suffered in the truck accident. The man and his family may face mounting expenses as he remains hospitalized and is cared for. A victim in Texas that suffers serious injury in a wrong way crash may seek restitution from any party deemed negligent to help cover any financial hardships that resulted.
