Houston police say reckless driver caused fatal crash

The day before Christmas is often a time of bustling for many families across the nation. Last minute shopping, gift-wrapping, decorating and food preparations are common activities as people anticipate a day of celebration with loved ones. When a reckless driver takes to the road, however, the joyful hustle and bustle of the holiday season can quickly turn into a tragic event. Unfortunately, that appears to have been what happened in the Houston 600 block of E. Crosstimbers on Christmas Eve.

Houston accident leaves two dead at scene and one survivor

An off-duty police officer placed a 911 call after witnessing a crash in South Houston on a recent Sunday. The accident took place in the wee hours of the morning. A spokesman from the city's police department stated that the vehicle was speeding in the 12600 block of State Highway 288.

SUV rollover crash shuts down two lanes of Texas Interstate

A Thursday morning collision in Texas caused two southbound lanes of Interstate 45 to close. The SUV rollover wreck involved a woman operating the SUV and a man hauling a boat on a trailer behind his truck. Two small dogs, riding in the woman's vehicle, were unharmed. According to police, the driver of the truck was issued a citation for making an unsafe and illegal lane change.

Texas driver charged in fatal accident

Several passengers suffered multiple injuries when a Texas driver ran a red light and crashed into the passenger side of another car in late November. A 20-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries. Another passenger in her car was left with several broken bones. Criminal charges have now been pressed in the fatal accident. The 23-year-old male who ran the red light is currently being held on $150,000 bond for intoxicated manslaughter.

Texas charter school students involved in bus accident

Sending children to school is a common daily occurrence all across America. Many parents drive their children to their destinations. However, some rely on others to transport their children for them. Recently, some Texas parents were shocked to learn that their children were involved in a school bus accident. They were likely even more shocked when they learned that the vehicle in which their children were being transported was uninsured and had not recently passed inspection. 

Fatal Houston car accident takes 3 lives

A pair of Houston teenagers recently lost their lives after a devastating car accident. Reports indicate that the two young men would often ride with a coach who volunteered with their team in order to help the students reach their goals in sports and education. Officials believe the trainer may have been speeding at the time of the car accident.

Texas chase ends in fatality -- wrongful death claim to come?

When a family loses a loved one as a result of an accident that was potentially caused by another motorist running from the police, they may have questions on how to best confront the situation. The families of the injured children may face extensive medical expenses and emotional stress as they attempt to understand the tragedy that took place. Authorities indicate that the adult driver may face criminal charges for her involvement in the tragic vehicle rollover.
