Texas teacher and student killed in fatal accident

On Behalf of | Mar 12, 2015 | Wrongful Death

It is often thought that the influence of a good teacher can have a positive impact on a student’s life. Students and faculty at one Texas school recently shared the many ways in which one of the school’s teachers brought joy and blessings to their community. Sadly, she and a student are now being mourned after their lives were recently taken in a fatal accident.

The teacher’s social media page has been filled with loving messages and shared memories since her death. She is remembered as always having a smile and a kind word for others. The student who was traveling as a passenger in her vehicle was an international student. He was said to have had a very promising future as an athlete and was known by fellow students and staff as a scholar and valued member of the student body.

The two were heading north in the teacher’s vehicle, along with four other passengers. According to reports, a pickup truck slammed into the vehicle head on. The 30-year-old driver of that vehicle was taken to an area hospital. The teacher died as a result of the impact, and the student athlete succumbed to his injuries some time later. Three others were also injured, including one 15-year-old who was reported as being in critical condition.

The Texas community continues to mourn the loss of its beloved teacher and its talented student. Immediate family members who survive the death of a loved one in a fatal accident that was caused by the negligent actions of another person can seek compensation through the legal system by filing a wrongful death claim in court. Seeking the advice of a professional legal team may be a logical first step toward filing such a claim.
