A popular Hollywood star is reported to have suffered serious injuries in a recent collision in Katy, Texas. The actor was said to have been traveling as a passenger in a vehicle that was allegedly struck by a drunk driver. Sadly, according to reports, a fellow cast member of the young man succumbed to injuries suffered in another recent crash.
Dalton Gray is a 17-year-old actor who starred in the popular “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” Reports indicate that he was in Texas on a recent Saturday night, and was riding in the passenger seat of a friend’s vehicle. Another vehicle is said to have T-boned the one in which Mr. Gray was traveling. He suffered serious injuries, including a shattered femur, hip and pelvis, as well as severe eye trauma and other facial injuries.
It was reported that the actor had to undergo reconstructive surgery to repair severe damage to his facial structure. Doctors also had to remove glass from his eye, though they have issued a positive prognosis. Although he apparently came close to suffering blindness, they believe that they were able to save his vision. The man suspected of driving while intoxicated was arrested and is currently being held in jail.
Those in Texas who have suffered injury due to the reckless actions of a drunk driver have the right to seek compensation for damages suffered during or in the aftermath of an accident. When a victim of a drunk driving crash does not survive an accident, his or her immediate family members are permitted to file a claim on behalf of the decedent. Depending upon the severity of a victim’s injuries, ongoing medical care, loss of potential wages and costs incurred during the recovery process can add financial distress to the physical pain and emotional suffering experienced that often result after an accident. Court-awarded compensation could help alleviate some of those financial burdens.
