Texas accident results in motorcyclist accused as a drunk driver

A crash occurred in Texas on a recent Tuesday that involved a motorcycle carrying two individuals. The operator has been accused of being a drunk driver in the incident. He was originally charged with intoxicated assault with a vehicle that caused serious bodily injured to another person. According to report updates, those charges will now be upgraded due to the death of the passenger.

A 29-year-old male was driving the motorcycle when it crashed. A 34-year-old female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. She has since died from the severity of her injuries, and authorities have stated that the charges against the driver will most likely be upgraded to intoxicated manslaughter.

No other vehicles were reported to have been involved in the crash. A police spokeswoman said that the accident occurred at 11:30 p.m. near Interstate 20. The driver is reportedly being held in an Arlington jail with no bail set as yet.

Immediate family members who have survived the untimely death of a loved one killed in a Texas accident caused by a drunk driver have the right to take legal action against the party believed to have been at fault. Funeral expenses and other costs incurred in the aftermath of a fatal accident can add undue stress to the grief a family is already experiencing. In a successfully litigated claim, the court could award monetary compensation that might help alleviate some of those financial burdens. Typically, the first step to take when considering formal litigation would be to consult a legal professional with experience in motor vehicle accidents.
