A Texas tragedy has left two families mourning the loss of their loved ones in San Antonio. The recent fatal accident involved two vehicles. One of the motorists now faces multiple charges as a result.
A young couple in love, whose parents say were perfect for one another, were killed by a suspected drunk driver in the recent crash. They were reportedly traveling in a vehicle with friends and a co-worker. The couple was properly restrained with safety belts in the rear seat of the vehicle.
Reports indicate that the vehicle in which the couple was traveling was at an intersection when another car suddenly struck them from behind. The crash impact was so severe that the car full of occupants was catapulted a distance of 100 feet. The couple was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The occupants in the front seat of the car were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The 26-year-old driver who appears to have caused the accident now faces two counts of intoxicated manslaughter and another charge of intoxicated assault. Family members who survive the tragic loss of a loved one in a Texas fatal accident have the right to pursue legal action against a driver deemed responsible. Though no amount of compensation can alleviate the immense grief with which a family is stricken when a young family member is killed, it might be of comfort to know that a court ordered award — which must be based upon proof of negligence — could be used to help absorb some of the costs incurred because of an accident. The two injured victims who survived the crash may each pursue a personal injury claim for the financial damages they have sustained.
