A tragedy occurred in Texas on a recent Tuesday night. The incident resulted in a loss of life. Police say that it was approximately 11:40 p.m. when they responded to the two car accident.
Reports indicate that a car was heading southbound on the road. The driver, a 19-year-old young woman, is said to have stopped at a flashing red light. After allegedly making the appropriate stop, the motorist proceeded through the intersection.
A pickup truck reportedly struck the car as it entered the intersection. The sudden impact of the collision caused the car to careen off the road and into the parking lot of a gasoline station nearby. Responding police officers were on site in less than one minute following the crash. The officers began performing CPR on the teenager who had been driving the car as they awaited the arrival of rescue workers. Sadly, the victim died at the scene.
The investigation in the case is ongoing and neither speed nor alcohol are listed as factors. In similar cases, if another motorist is deemed negligent in a Texas car accident, a decedent victim’s family members might choose to file a legal claim in the aftermath of the untimely death of their loved one. It is always especially sad when a young person dies in an auto accident. A family might be comforted to know that at least they might have recourse to receive compensation for damages sustained so as to use those monies to help absorb costs of a funeral or pay bills for medical care that might have been rendered to the deceased before he or she succumbed to the injuries.
