Help for those who have lost loved ones in Texas accidents

When one travels as a passenger in another person's vehicle, there is a certain amount of risk involved. However, most Texas travelers understandably assume that the person operating the vehicle in which they are traveling will do so according to the highest standards of caution and motor vehicle safety. When an accident occurs, an innocent victim might suffer serious injury, or as in a recent case, families have sometimes lost loved ones due to a driver's negligence.

The recent tragedy took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. on a Thursday morning. Authorities say that only one vehicle was involved in the incident. There were two occupants in the car, both women, ages 25 and 27. Sadly, one of the women did not survive.

The 27-year-old was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Troopers who responded to the scene say that she was heading in a westbound direction on the road when she failed to stop at a stop sign. Her vehicle apparently went through the intersection, crashed into a fence and then flipped. The 25-year-old passenger in the car died as a result of her injuries.

No reports have been given as to the condition of the woman who was driving the car, other than the fact that she was taken to a hospital after the crash. Immediate family members who have lost loved ones under similar circumstances in Texas accidents have the right to pursue legal action on behalf of the deceased against a motorist believed to have been negligent. Doing so allows them to seek a monetary judgment for damages, which, in a successfully litigated case, could result in a compensatory award that could be used to help offset funeral costs and alleviate some of the other losses associated with a fatal  accident.
