A horrific tragedy occurred on a Texas road that involved a sports utility vehicle and a big rig truck. The truck accident took place at approximately 6:35 a.m. on a recent morning. Sadly, four lives were lost due to the seriousness of the collision. The driver of the truck escaped injury.
The SUV was carrying four occupants, all of whom were killed. Among the deceased were two adults, one of whom was expecting a child, and two children. The vehicles collided on a flyover ramp connecting Interstate 20 with I-35E. The impact of the crash apparently caused the gas tank of the truck to rupture, causing both vehicles to burst into flames.
The truck was said to have been hauling a load of lumber at the time of the accident. After igniting in flames, some of the burning wood plummeted more than 50 feet to a road below the ramp. Both highways were closed to all traffic in the aftermath of the tragic collision.
An investigation remains ongoing as to the details that led to the recent truck accident. Texas law allows an immediate family who has suffered the untimely death of a loved one in an accident deemed to have been caused by another motorist’s negligence to file a legal claim in a civil court. It is sometimes comforting for grieving families to know that there is legal help available if they wish to seek compensation on behalf of their deceased family member for damages sustained due to an accident.
