When motor vehicle collisions occur on Texas highways, serious injuries to one or more persons is an all too common result. In certain circumstances, seriously injured victims are airlifted to the nearest appropriate medical facility for emergency care. One recent car accident occurred during inclement weather, which prevented a medical helicopter from being able to respond to the scene.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Both police and local fire departments responded to the scene near an intersection. Three cars were reportedly involved in the collision, resulting in four people suffering injuries.
Apparently, a car that was headed in an eastbound direction was traveling at high speeds. It allegedly crashed into the rear of another vehicle. One of the cars flipped over and struck a guard rail. The other hit a light pole some distance away.
Officials say that because of inclement weather at the time of the collision, a medical helicopter was unable to land at the scene. However, seven fire department units were dispatched and 16 responders were on site to render assistance to those in need. Four injured victims were transported for medical treatment, and two were listed in serious conditions. A victim who has survived injury in Texas car accident is able to pursue legal action to seek restitution when an accident is deemed to have been caused by the negligence of another party. Proper documentation of details is essential when filing a claim; therefore, it is typically prudent to discuss one’s situation with a qualified legal representative before proceeding to court.
