Texas man to face charges in fatal accident

On Behalf of | Nov 5, 2015 | Wrongful Death

On a recent Saturday night in Texas, one road became the scene of a tragedy. The fatal accident resulted in one man being charged with intoxication manslaughter. Two vehicles were involved in the collision that took place near an intersection.

A 35-year-old man has been deemed responsible for the tragic accident. He was on U.S. 290 heading eastbound when he veered through a grassy median. His vehicle ended up on a service road adjacent to the highway. He struck another car on its driver’s side.

The other motorist was a man described as being in his 20s. He was transported to a university medical center in the area for emergency treatment of his injuries. Sadly, he did not survive. The driver alleged to be responsible in the incident is being held in a county jail.

No personal identification information was provided for the victim because his family had not yet been notified of his death. A fatal accident caused by someone who chose to imbibe alcoholic beverages and then get behind the wheel is a tragedy that could have been avoided. An immediate family member of a victim killed under such circumstances is able to seek compensation for damages by filing a wrongful death claim in a civil court. In Texas, there are experienced personal injury lawyers available who can guide someone through that process. A successfully litigated case can do nothing to replace a human life, but it can result in an award of compensation that can pay for funeral expenses, medical bills and other financial losses incurred.
