Many thousands of motorists share busy Texas roadways on a daily basis. Most who travel understand that it is the obligation of every motor vehicle operator to do his or her best to drive according to the highest level of safety standards and traffic regulations. Driver negligence can lead to disastrous results. In a recent truck accident, the alleged actions of a tractor-trailer driver caused a fatality.

A man behind the wheel of the tractor-trailer at the time of the accident was said to be working under the employment of the JS Express, a trucking company based in Irving. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on a recent Thursday night, the trucker apparently attempted to make a U-turn on the road. The maneuver caused the massive vehicle to cross over three lanes of traffic.

Before the driver was able to complete the U-turn, his vehicle is said to have smashed into a motorcycle traveling in a westbound lane. Sadly, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries soon after the collision. His wife, who was riding as a passenger on the bike, remains in the hospital in a comatose state.

The decedent was the father of a young child on whose behalf a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in the aftermath of the Texas truck accident. More than $1 million in damages is being sought against the defendants. In similar situations, a parent or legal guardian is able to file a legal claim on behalf of a minor aged child who has suffered the untimely death of his or her parent due to a motorist’s negligence. Those considering filing such claims typically seek legal consultation with experienced attorneys in the area before proceeding to court.
