Due to various acts of reckless or negligent driving, Texas motorists do not always arrive safely at their destinations. Motor vehicle collisions remain a daily concern for those who travel. When a crash results in injury to an innocent victim, additional damages may be sustained aside from those associated with the medical costs involved in treating physical injuries.
An accident recently occurred in the southbound lanes of the North Freeway. A woman’s vehicle was struck by a public transit van. The van seems to have been traveling in the wrong direction on the road. The impact of the collision apparently caused the woman to become trapped in her car.
Rescue workers at the scene were able to free the injured woman from her vehicle. She was then immediately transported by emergency aircraft to an area hospital for further care. Her condition has been listed as critical.
Investigating authorities say that the van driver is undergoing tests to determine whether driving under the influence of alcohol may have been a causal factor in the accident. A person who suffers critical injuries in a Texas crash is often met with undue financial debt from ongoing medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and other monetary losses that may be associated with recovery. It is understandable that one who has been injured through another person’s negligence in such circumstances would want to seek justice by filing a personal injury claim in a civil court. Compensation awarded by the court in a successfully litigated claim could be of significant help toward alleviating debt associated with the crash.
