SUV accident devastates family in Texas

During the holiday season, many Texas travelers take to the roads to go shopping, visiting or to view the beautiful lights that often adorn roadsides, homes and businesses at this time of year. It is a logical assumption that the more traffic there is on any particular roadway, the more chances there are that a collision may occur.  A recent SUV accident has left devastation and mourning in its wake for one family who had been enjoying a holiday ride moments before the tragedy took place.

Two of three siblings traveling with their parents had reportedly been enjoying a driving tour of Christmas lights when an unexpected crash changed their lives forever. The 23-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter were singing Christmas songs with their 17-year-old brother and parents when a sports utility vehicle struck their car from behind. The youngest of the siblings was transported to an area hospital, as were the parents, for medical treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Sadly, the older siblings were both pronounced dead at the scene of the horrific crash. Relatives and other members of the community have come forward to express their sympathy and offer support. One woman who works with the deceased victims' aunt stated that she and her colleagues set up a fund-raising page on the Internet as their way of reaching out to the grieving family.

The recent Texas SUV accident is similar to others that have changed lives in an instant for those who have suffered the untimely deaths of loved ones in vehicular collisions. Driver negligence is sometimes deemed to have caused such an accident. This can exacerbate the grief a family experiences, especially when it is believed that a crash could have been prevented. Families of those who have died under such circumstances may find themselves in need of legal advice if they are considering filing wrongful death claims to seek monetary judgments on behalf of their deceased loved ones in court.
