A vast number of details and conditions have bearing on roadway safety in Texas and throughout the nation. Motorists are obligated to adhere to traffic regulations in order to keep themselves and all who share the roads safe. However, unforeseen circumstances sometimes lead to vehicular collisions that can result in injury or, in worst cases, even death. This appears to have been the case in a recent crash between a tractor trailer and another car.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the two vehicles were traveling near Pampa when the accident occurred. It was just after 9 a.m., and the roads were apparently slick due to inclement weather. The massive truck, operated by a 35-year-old driver, apparently went into a slide down a steeply graded hill.

The truck reportedly veered through both north and south lanes of traffic. It then smashed into a car driven by a 51-year-old man. Sadly, he and a 50-year-old passenger traveling with him were pronounced dead at the scene.

When a tractor trailer accident leaves a family grieving the unexpected loss of a loved one in Texas, immediate members may be entitled to seek restitution by filing a legal claim in a civil court. Fatal accidents often lead to substantial financial debt for families who face funeral expenses, medical bills, loss of wages and other costs typically associated with a collision. Though nothing can replace the loss of human life, court-awarded compensation in a successfully litigated case can at least help offset some of those monetary losses.
