Parents must often entrust the safety and well-being of their children to school officials and bus drivers during the course of a normal school day. Knowing that someone else is responsible for seeing to it that one’s child arrives safely to school is a matter that can cause parents to worry. Those worries may come to fruition when a school bus driver is acting with the utmost caution behind the wheel, but another motorist’s negligence leads to an accident that results in injuries to students on board a bus. This seems to have been the case in a recent incident involving a school bus and a truck in Texas.
It was approximately 3 p.m. when the bus was said to have been carrying more than 30 students to their appointed destination. It appears that a truck driver in the vicinity failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the school bus full of children. Two students suffered injuries in the crash and were able to be treated on site.
It is sometimes the case that what seem to be minor injuries result in medical complications at a later point in time. This may require the need for further medical care and assistance in recovery. Repeated doctor visits and various treatments can be financially burdensome for parents of minor age children.
Parents in Texas whose children are injured in a school bus accident may understandably be concerned with potential sources of liability in such circumstances. An experienced personal injury lawyer would be able to help by launching an investigation into the details of the accident in order to help determine who may have been responsible. To retain this type of assistance, one need only contact an attorney in the area and request a personal consultation.
