Texas accident kills one, injures four others

Various factors may cause a driver to lose control of steering. Poor road conditions due to inclement weather, being struck by another vehicle and negligent driving are all common factors that sometimes lead to loss of steering control. When an accident occurs in Texas because a motorist has lost control of the wheel, serious injuries or death may result.

Sadly, such seems to have been the case following a recent incident involving a vehicle carrying students who were returning from a Christian mission trip they had taken on their spring break. The group had apparently spent the night at a hotel in order to recharge before the last leg of their journey. They arose on a Sunday morning and headed home, but at some point, their driver reportedly lost control of the wheel, and the vehicle rolled over multiple times.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Four passengers were transported to area hospitals with varying degrees of personal injury. Two of the victims were listed in critical conditions. Texas Tech representatives expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased and have reached out to the families of the victims who remain in hospital.

Injured victims who survive a serious accident in Texas often require ongoing medical treatments during recovery. Such care is often expensive and may present a family with undue financial strain that it was not prepared to meet. In situations where the driver believed to have caused the accident has died, a legal claim can be filed in a civil court against that person's estate in order to seek compensation for damages.
