Is there anything drivers can do to avoid SUV rollovers?

As the operator of a motor vehicle, you can certainly do your part to avoid SUV accidents, including rollovers. This is true for all Houston residents who strive to remain in responsible control of their automobiles.

Across the United States, there has recently been much discussion about the dangers of SUV accidents, with rollovers occupying the top spot in these conversations. While it is true that SUVs are prone to rolling over, drivers like you can take action to avoid an SUV accident and reduce crash figures in the state of Texas.

Many times, SUV accidents occur because of design or manufacturing flaws like an unusually high center of gravity. As you might imagine, being struck by another vehicle may also cause an SUV to rollover. While there is nothing you can do to influence the behavior of other motorists, you can take steps to reduce your potential involvement in an SUV accident.

The most obvious of these is to practice safe driving and to be alert of the behavior of other drivers. Here are some other things you can do to avoid single-vehicle and multi-vehicle accidents and to reduce your risk of injury.

-- Wear your safety belt at all times

-- Choose the latest SUV model, which has better safety features

-- Make sure your tires are properly inflated

-- Avoid overloading your SUV for better stability

-- Be extra cautious on rural roads and highways

If despite your best efforts, you become involved in a single or multi-vehicle SUV accident, you might consider looking into the accident on a deeper level. Establishing negligence on the part of another driver or your vehicle's manufacturer will open to door to seeking compensation.
