In terms of trucking safety, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance works to promote safety and security within the commercial motor vehicle industry across North America. Commercial trucks and other vehicles are issued a special CVSA decal to show that the items examined passed the inspection process. If violations are discovered, no decal will be issued. As long as commercial vehicles display a CVSA decal no older than three months, they are generally exempt from a re-inspection.
