A crash just before one o’clock in the morning caused a car with four people inside to burst into flames. Everyone in the vehicle was killed. The authorities were not even sure how many people had been inside until they got the fire under control, according to reports.
The accident appears to have happened when a speeding Chevy Impala came up behind a Volkswagen and was involved in a rear-end accident that pushed the Impala right off of the freeway.
The man driving that Impala is from Houston, Texas. He is 41 years old. Police said he may have been traveling as fast 150 miles per hour when he allegedly caused the crash.
Authorities do say that the man, who was on parole, said he’d been using a variety of drugs, including an 8-ball, Angel Dust, Tramadol and cocaine.
The man was injured in the crash, but his injuries were reported to be minor. He was treated for them and then released from the medical center to be booked into the Brazos County jail.
One official who is working the case said that the four people who were trapped inside the second car ended up being “burnt beyond recognition” in the fire after the crash. As of the latest reports, their names have not yet been released to the public.
Have you lost a loved one due to another driver’s recklessness and willful negligence? When you’re facing medical bills, funeral bills, lost future wages and many other such costs, though compensation doesn’t bring a loved one back, it may be wise to know what legal options you have. A sense of closure is often afforded via legal channels, which can prove invaluable for a family after such a harrowing trauma.
